As an anchor organization in the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition, The People’s Lobby played a significant role in passing the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act in 2021. Since then, we’ve worked to make sure that this new law realizes its full potential in creating equitable jobs across Illinois.
Last year, we helped win the progressive revenue we needed to rebuild public transit in our state in a way that protects our environment and gets everybody where we need to go. Now, we’ve joined the Make Polluters Pay campaign to tax Illinois’ largest fossil fuel corporations and use that money to fund climate adaptation and mitigation projects that benefit the communities most affected by pollution and climate change.
