January 29, 2026, 5:30 pm CST
Target
1101 W Jackson Blvd
Chicago IL 60607

Join us this Thursday, January 29, at Target, 1101 W Jackson Ave, to protest its support of ICE’s campaign of terror.

Target CEO Brian Cornell came out strongly in favor of DEI after the murder of George Floyd in 2020, but quickly went back on those commitments when Trump was elected. The Target corporation even made its first-ever donation to an inauguration campaign last year–to Trump’s campaign.

Since then, Target has supported ICE’s campaign of terror by allowing CBP Chief Greg Bovino to invade a Target in St. Paul and film propaganda there and allowing ICE to assault and kidnap two Target employees, who are citizens, while they were at work.

In Chicago, Target let ICE agents use their parking lots as a staging location to facilitate their ongoing work to kidnap our neighbors and terrorize our communities. Still, the corporation is allowing ICE agents access to Target stores nationwide and has remained silent even after the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti

We’re demanding that Target:

  • Publicly call for ICE to leave Minnesota and Illinois

  • Affirm Target stores as 4th amendment workplaces, publicly post signage denying entrance to immigration agents without signed judicial warrants, and train staff on how to respond if immigration agents enter illegally

  • Restore the DEI commitments they made in 2020

February 23, 2026, 6:30 pm CST
St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Logan Square
3325 W Wrightwood Ave
Chicago IL 60647

Our state budget is the first line of defense against Trump. Next year’s federal budget pays for ICE violence and cuts funding for food assistance and healthcare that working families desperately need to survive. We must fight back against Trump's tax cuts with a state budget that reflects the needs of our communities.

Midwest Counseling and Diagnostics, 1 E Wacker, 2nd floor conference room
1 E Wacker
Chicago IL 60660

One of TPL's landmark successes in 2025 was the passage of HB1085, which will increase access to mental and behavioral health care in Illinois by forcing private insurers to raise the rates at which mental health and substance abuse providers are paid to be more in line with physical health care providers. This is a big win that will make a real difference in people's lives by addressing our state's shortage of therapists.

With this victory under our belts, the time has come for us to claim our win! Join us and Rep. Lindsey LaPointe on Feb 9 for a press conference where the patients and providers who fought for this victory will tell their stories and spread our message: when we organize, we win!

January 29, 2026, 7:00 pm CST
Brookfield Public Library Meeting Room 2
3541 Park Ave
Brookfield IL 60513

Join us for a strategy conversation and planning session to launch a new local team of The People’s Lobby in the southwest suburbs.

Right now, corporations and the ultra-wealthy are consolidating power, attacking our healthcare, threatening our public transit, and blocking climate action. The impact is felt here in our communities: in unaffordable care, unreliable transportation, and a polluted planet.

But there's good news: we can fight back right here in Illinois. By building organized people power in our own neighborhoods, we can push our state and local officials to stand up to corporate greed and growing authoritarianism to win policies that put people and the planet first.

Our state has the power to get rid of the middleman in healthcare, fully fund essential services, and make polluters pay. But it will only happen if we, the people, organize to demand it.

At this house party, we’ll discuss how we build that power together. We'll share our vision for a government and economy that work for all of us, celebrate recent local victories, and lay out our campaigns for healthcare and climate justice. Most importantly, we’ll plan how you can get involved in building our local team to win tangible change.

Join us to learn how you can take action with your neighbors and build the power we need to win.

Fossil fuel companies have made trillions of dollars pumping greenhouse gasses into our atmosphere over the last five decades. Our communities pay the price for their actions with our dollars, our health, and our lives. While their profits soar, our utility bills reach new heights and negative health outcomes like childhood asthma remain unacceptable. It's time that the people of Illinois stand up and make those polluters pay for their damage!

Join The People's Lobby's Environmental Justice Task Force to learn about the Make Polluters Pay campaign at this virtual teach-in and listening session. We'll talk about what's at stake, how we can win, and what kinds of changes we can win in our communities with new funding.

Illinois needs more progressive tax revenue that invests in our communities. Our tax system is currently the 8th most unequal in the country and the most unequal in the Midwest.

Working-class families are paying double the percentage of their income to state and local taxes compared to those in the top 1%. And to make ends meet, Illinois' 2026 budget cut essential programs that our families and communities need to thrive.

We're looking to build out our team as we advocate for more sustained and equitable revenue streams to support public services. If you haven't joined us before, we'll be excited to have you.

Send a letter now.

We are running out of time to get this critical bill passed. It is time to — once again — tell your state legislators to pass HB1085 so people with mental health needs can get the care they deserve.

Our goal is to pass this legislation as soon as the end of October — during “veto session”.

HB1085 will require fair payment rates for mental health services — helping more providers stay in-network and increasing access to care.

This legislation:

Improves access by ensuring networks actually include available providers

Establishes fair reimbursement based on real data (141.7% of Medicare)

Closes the gap between physical and mental health coverage — enforcing true parity

Has bipartisan support and was crafted with input from state leadership

Won’t raise taxes or impact the state budget

Sending this letter tells your elected officials that you demand accessible, equitable mental health care — and that you want them to take action during the fall veto session to pass HB1085.

Join Us for a Bold and Participatory Visioning Session: Health Care for All

We believe health care is a human right—not a privilege. As a membership-driven organization dedicated to putting people and the planet before corporate profits, we’re working to build a world where no one goes bankrupt because they’re sick—and no one stays sick because they can’t afford care.

At this community gathering, we’ll come together to imagine a just and dignified health care system that serves us all. Through open conversation, collective visioning, and strategic collaboration, we will:

  • Create a shared vision for equitable, accessible health care in Illinois and beyond

  • Spark bold ideas for organizing, advocacy, and transformative policy change

  • Set clear goals and priorities to power the next phase of our health care justice movement

  • Strengthen our collective commitment to building people-powered change

Whether you're new to this fight or have been in it for years, your voice matters. Your experience matters. Your vision matters.
