Join Us for a Bold and Participatory Visioning Session: Health Care for All
We believe health care is a human right—not a privilege. As a membership-driven organization dedicated to putting people and the planet before corporate profits, we’re working to build a world where no one goes bankrupt because they’re sick—and no one stays sick because they can’t afford care.
At this community gathering, we’ll come together to imagine a just and dignified health care system that serves us all. Through open conversation, collective visioning, and strategic collaboration, we will:
Create a shared vision for equitable, accessible health care in Illinois and beyond
Spark bold ideas for organizing, advocacy, and transformative policy change
Set clear goals and priorities to power the next phase of our health care justice movement
Strengthen our collective commitment to building people-powered change
Whether you're new to this fight or have been in it for years, your voice matters. Your experience matters. Your vision matters.
Let’s come together to reimagine what’s possible—and take action to make it real.
Be part of the movement. Be part of the change.

Fascism is on the rise, and too often our legislators choose billionaires and corporate greed over people. These aren't abstract problems—they affect every single one of us unless you happen to be a billionaire. These challenges can feel overwhelming when we face them as individuals, but that's exactly why we organize collectively.
Fighting authoritarianism requires action! Join us for two evenings of:
- Skills training
- Strategy conversations
- Resource sharing
This event is Part 2 of a series, covering organizing and building community.

President Trump just signed an executive order threatening to hold back federal funding from Illinois over its repeal of cash bail! Log on to zoom to get the latest and plan our fight back!
Area Community Leaders that were part of eliminating cash bail in Illinois have had two more historic victories:
-Passage of the Fair Act that will improve the Public Defender system
-Full funding of The Success Act that expands access to health and human services for people awaiting trial.
But there is more work to be done, especially in DuPage County. There have been outrageous statements by sheriffs and prosecutors who seek to detain more people waiting for trial.
Join us on zoom on August 26th at 7pm as we launch our fall campaign for pretrial justice.
In the last calendar year, Bob Berlin's office has filed to detain people pre-trial over 2000 times, but less than 600 were granted. States Attorney Berlin is clearly out of step with the people and even the judges of DuPage County.
September 13, 2025, 9:30 am CST
How can we stop Trump and win the world we deserve? Our work in Illinois can build the movement to take on corporate power, protect our public services and the climate, and make sure we set the stage for progressive wins by putting people and the planet first. To win the future we deserve, we need to build and exercise more people power, which means understanding the basics of community organizing, talking with our neighbors, and bringing our communities into the fight.
Doors open at 9:30 a.m.
Meeting from 10:00 a.m. to Noon.
Potluck from Noon to 1 p.m.
For the potluck: We are only allowed to bring store-bought food to the venue, so please bring something prepackaged to share!

On July 26, Americans in every corner of the country will come together in peaceful marches, rallies, and actions to say: our families come first—not billionaires, not authoritarians, and not corrupt politicians.
From rural towns to major cities, Families First actions will bring people together to collectively demand an end to policies that harm children, seniors, and our families. We reject the Administration's actions that have gutted essential programs like Medicaid, FEMA, food stamps, school lunches, and more, all so a handful of billionaires can get tax giveaways.
We are coming together to say in unity: our families come first.
A core principle behind all Families First events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

He doesn’t just fight for us — he fights with us, and now it’s our turn to show up for him.
Robert’s team will kick off the petition season with food, community, and training to get you ready to hit the doors and help gather the signatures needed to secure his place on the ballot.

Join State Representative Barbara Hernandez, The People’s Lobby, GreenLatinos, and Sierra Club Illinois on Wednesday, August 6, at 6:30 PM, at 233 S Constitution Dr. in Aurora, to help build greener, more affordable, and healthier communities across Illinois.
We’ll dive into how our transit systems, buildings, and energy grid can all play a role in making our communities healthy and sustainable—and how you can be part of the solution.
The interconnected crises of climate change and corporate greed affect all of us in Illinois. But as transit faces devastating cuts, energy costs rise, and buildings produce harmful pollution, Black, brown, and low-income communities are hit the hardest.
But there’s a way forward if we organize and act together. Join us to learn about three key initiatives that can help:
Comprehensive public transit legislation that would invest $1.5 billion to make transit reliable, affordable, and sustainable for all.
The Clean and Healthy Buildings Act would require utilities to transition to clean energy and ensure new buildings are powered by safe, clean appliances that don’t harm our health.
The Clean Reliable Grid Affordability Act would prevent energy companies from unfairly raising bills and push investments in cleaner, more efficient energy.
Join us on August 6th to learn how you can support these important legislative efforts and protect our communities’ health and future. Food and Spanish interpretation will be provided.

How you can get involved to make a difference

Come take action, influence our strategies and learn how you can be involved in creating a more just IL by fighting for environmental justice. Right now we are in a big moment to transform our public transportation system and we can be a part of making a system that is frequent, takes people where they need to go, cuts our emission and bring down our car culture. Be a part of the change by joining our Environmental Justice Task force.

Share your Transit Stories!
The Environmental Justice Task Force (EJTF) is looking to hear from transit riders, giving them an opportunity to share their transit stories and ask their elected officials to fight for a world-class transportation system. At our "Story Collection", we will train folks to effectively and powerfully share their experiences, record those experiences, and then put them out on social channels to make them heard!
Food will be provided at this event
Feel free to bring journals/laptops to record your stories, but know that paper and pens will be provided
