Learn about the elements of successful, global movements in resisting authoritarianism and fascism, and what our current moment calls for locally and nationally. Learn effective skills and strategies around direct action. Build community while learning about the power of collective noncompliance and mass noncooperation. Connect with other local activists and make plans for action, together!

We'll provide food, transportation, and all the training you need to help move your elected officials forward on our closing corporate tax loopholes to raise revenue for education and services, health care, criminal justice, and Make Polluters Pay:

• VIRTUAL training and orientation: TBD
• Expect to be on the road from a designated pick up spot by 6am (so you'll have to leave home before 6 am) and arrive back at at the pick up spot by around 7:30 pm
• Plan to have first meetings with legislators starting at 10:00, last meeting starting at 2:00 pm, group picture at 2:30 pm, 3:00 pm departure
• What to wear: comfy clothes and shoes… (There will be lots of walking. Wear your TPL t-shirt. If this is your first lobby day, you'll get a t-shirt. You do NOT need to dress up.)
• You'll: bring your own bottled water, coffee and breakfast and coffee to enjoy in the van.
• We'll: provide snacks and lunch.

Join The People's Lobby and State Reps. Will Guzzardi and Eva-Dina Delgado for a town hall on using our state's budget to defend Illinois from MAGA, ICE, and economic violence!

Our state budget is the first line of defense against the Trump administration. Next year’s federal budget pays for ICE violence and cuts funding for food assistance and health care that working families desperately need to survive. We must fight back against Trump's tax cuts with a state budget that reflects the needs of our communities.

This meeting is a space for power-building, shared strategy, and collective action to strengthen provider wellbeing and expand access to meaningful mental health care.

Join us this Thursday, January 29, at Target, 1101 W Jackson Ave, to protest its support of ICE’s campaign of terror.

Target CEO Brian Cornell came out strongly in favor of DEI after the murder of George Floyd in 2020, but quickly went back on those commitments when Trump was elected. The Target corporation even made its first-ever donation to an inauguration campaign last year–to Trump’s campaign.

Since then, Target has supported ICE’s campaign of terror by allowing CBP Chief Greg Bovino to invade a Target in St. Paul and film propaganda there and allowing ICE to assault and kidnap two Target employees, who are citizens, while they were at work.

In Chicago, Target let ICE agents use their parking lots as a staging location to facilitate their ongoing work to kidnap our neighbors and terrorize our communities. Still, the corporation is allowing ICE agents access to Target stores nationwide and has remained silent even after the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti

We’re demanding that Target:

• Publicly call for ICE to leave Minnesota and Illinois

• Affirm Target stores as 4th amendment workplaces, publicly post signage denying entrance to immigration agents without signed judicial warrants, and train staff on how to respond if immigration agents enter illegally

• Restore the DEI commitments they made in 2020

This workshop designed to build and strengthen social justice ministry work within area faith-based institutions as well as provide individuals with concrete step to activate their personal commitment to justice in the public area through a faith lense.

One of TPL's landmark successes in 2025 was the passage of HB1085, which will increase access to mental and behavioral health care in Illinois by forcing private insurers to raise the rates at which mental health and substance abuse providers are paid to be more in line with physical health care providers. This is a big win that will make a real difference in people's lives by addressing our state's shortage of therapists.

With this victory under our belts, the time has come for us to claim our win! Join us and Rep. Lindsey LaPointe on Feb 9 for a press conference where the patients and providers who fought for this victory will tell their stories and spread our message: when we organize, we win!

Join us for a strategy conversation and planning session to launch a new local team of The People’s Lobby in the southwest suburbs.

Right now, corporations and the ultra-wealthy are consolidating power, attacking our healthcare, threatening our public transit, and blocking climate action. The impact is felt here in our communities: in unaffordable care, unreliable transportation, and a polluted planet.

But there's good news: we can fight back right here in Illinois. By building organized people power in our own neighborhoods, we can push our state and local officials to stand up to corporate greed and growing authoritarianism to win policies that put people and the planet first.

Our state has the power to get rid of the middleman in healthcare, fully fund essential services, and make polluters pay. But it will only happen if we, the people, organize to demand it.

At this house party, we’ll discuss how we build that power together. We'll share our vision for a government and economy that work for all of us, celebrate recent local victories, and lay out our campaigns for healthcare and climate justice. Most importantly, we’ll plan how you can get involved in building our local team to win tangible change.
